Count it as another loss for Danny Brown Wine Bar and Kitchen.

Not long after the restaurant revealed plans to close down come December, the Michelin Guide New York chose not to award the eatery with a star for its 2016 guide. Danny Brown Wine Bar and Kitchen was the first Queens restaurant to receive the honor back in 2011 and has been awarded each year since.

“At the time of review we were extremely disappointed to remove the star here as it was our first star ever awarded in Queens but did so because the cooking was not consistently at the one star level,” Lauren Davis, a spokeswoman for Michelin said in an email to DNAinfo.

While this must be disheartening for the celebrated chef, he is still on the hunt for a new location for his restaurant.
