Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz is kicking off the third cycle of Participatory Budgeting in District 29.
Participatory Budgeting is the process in which community members directly decide how to spend $1 Million on things that affect the public, such as parks, streets, schools, or libraries.
For last year’s Participatory Budgeting, residents funded the bathroom renovation at three elementary schools in addition to safety improvements at the intersection of Austin Street and 71st Avenue. Also, the funding provided the Forest Hills Library with an outdoor reading room.
