A fire broke out around 8:30 a.m. this morning at a building in Forest Hills.
The fire broke out on the roof of the seven-story, mixed-used building, which is located at 109-19 72nd Road between Queens Boulevard and Austin Street.
More than 60 firefighters from 12 units responded to the blaze and were able to bring it under control within the hour. The cause of the fire is unknown at this point. There are no reported injuries.
Since last year, work has been going on at the site. Community members on a local Facebook group stated seeing work has continued on the lower floors of the building after the fire was controlled.
