Borough Hall sponsors opioid overdose training

On Thursday, Dec. 5, Queens Borough Hall will partner with NYC Health + Hospitals to host a free public training event on how to deal with an opioid overdose.

From 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., attendees will learn how to recognize an overdose and how to safely administer naloxone medication to reverse it. The two-hour training session will include a presentation on the nationwide opioid crisis and its impact in Queens, as well as information about what NYC Health + Hospitals is doing to combat the epidemic.

The event will also distribute free kits containing naloxone nasal spray to individuals ages 12 and older.
