Stop ’N’ Swap Community Reuse Event this Sunday
With spring here, many people are looking to discard items from their homes. Well, bring your items down to the free Stop ’N’ Swap Community Reuse Event on Sunday, May 21.
Bring clean, portable, reusable items to share with those who can use them. You are not required to bring something to take something. You can take anything that’s up for grabs. Books, toys, fashionable clothing, housewares and electronics are just some of the offerings.
“Everyone knows New Yorkers have the best stuff. And you can find it for free at Stop ‘N’ Swap!” said GrowNYC Executive Director Marcel Van Ooyen. “These events bring neighbors together and reduce the city’s carbon footprint by facilitating reuse and encouraging waste reduction.”
Anything leftover at the end of the day is donated or recycled. Furniture and other large items are not accepted at the swap.
The Stop ’N’ Swap will be at the Central Queens YM-YWHA Outdoor Lot (108th Street between 68th Avenue and 68th Road) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
