According to a U.S. News & World Report ranking of high schools in New York state, Forest Hills High School was ranked No. 125th.

The school, which is also ranked #1,267 in the country, received a silver medal. With a total of 3,793 students in enrollment, 64% are economically disadvantaged.

Other Queens schools featured includes Queens High School for the Sciences at York College (ranked No. 38 in the country), Townsend Harris High School (ranked No. 60 in the country) and Baccalaureate School for Global Education (ranked No. 32 in the country).
